We are fast approaching the end of the first marking period (half way through the 1st semester). I will be passing out progress reports for every Algebra 2 student on Monday so students can do a check in on their grades and what work they are missing. MONDAY - DAY 1 Learning Target: Write an equation of a line given its slope and a point on the line Today we are looking at how point-slope form of the equation of a line differs from slope-intercept form and how to use it. Assignment: Pg. 86 10-21 and 30-35 Below is a link to Khan Academy where you can find information on Point-Slope Form WEDNESDAY - DAY 2
Learning Target: Show what you know about writing and graphing linear equations in slope-intercept and point-slope form Today we are doing a multiple choice check in for the middle of chapter 2. Come prepared to answer questions from sections 2.1, 2.3, and 2.4 THURSDAY - DAY 3 UPDATE Learning Target: Review quizzes and make corrections. Understand the relationship between slope-intercept and point-slope form of linear equations. Today we will be spending time looking over the quizzes from Wednesday, and then completing a notes sheet on comparing the slope-intercpet (y = mx + b) and the point-slope form (y-y1 = m(x-x1) Assignment: Quiz Corrections Turned in, and Worksheet - see link below

Welcome to my student blog! I'm finally back to posting about our weekly Learning Targets and information after taking some time to get organized at the beginning of the school year. MONDAY - DAY 1 Learning Target: Write and graph linear equations Today we will be looking at how to find the slope from two points, how to create the equation of a line slope-intercept format, and how to quickly graph the equation of a line in slope intercept form. Assignment: Pg. 78 8 - 36 even WEDNESDAY - DAY 2 Learning Target: Quick graph linear equations in slope-intercept form Today we will be practicing how to graph linear equations quickly from slope-intercept (y=mx + b) information of the y-intercept and slope. Assignment: Notes on Quick Graphing in Slope Intercept Form THURSDAY - DAY 3 Learning Target: Write an equation of a line given its slope and a point on the line Today we will be looking at how to display a line using the point-slope from y - y1 = m(x - x1) Assignment: Pg. 86 10-21 and 30-35 If you need support for this week's work, try looking at the Khan Academy information on Slope and Linear Equations
