Due to the school day we had on Thursday, the Unit 3 quiz was moved to Tuesday, December 19th. We had a review on Friday and I will pass out a review guide on Monday.
MONDAY Review Learning Targets 1, 2, and 3 in preparation for the quiz. Learning Target 1: Use Algebraic properties like combination and distribution to solve equations. Learning Target 2: Use linear equations in slope -intercept form to find the intercepts and graph it. Learning Target 3: Use linear equations in standard form to find the intercepts and graph it. Success Criteria: You are successful if you can - Combine like terms by adding and subtracting common terms and then solving - Distribute by multiplying the number outside the ( ) by everything inside -Find the x and y intercepts by substituting 0 for the opposite variable and solving - Graph the equation of the line by plotting the 2 intercepts on the axes and drawing a line TUESDAY Quiz today covering Learning Targets 1, 2, and 3 from Unit 3. WEDNESDAY Learning Target: Find the area and perimeter of a rectangle Success Criteria: You are successful if you can - calculate the area of a rectangle using the formula A = bh - calculate the perimeter of a rectangle using the formula P = 2b + 2h -calculate the base or height of a rectangle given the Area by substituting and solving THURSDAY Learning Target: Find the area and circumference of a circle Success Criteria: You are successful if you can - calculate the area of a circle using the formula A = pi x r^2 - calculate the circumference of a circle using the formula C = 2 x pi x r where r is the radius - calculate the radius of a circle from the Area by working backwards (divide by pi and take the square root) - calculate the area from circumference by working backwards (divide by 6.28 to get the radius) FRIDAY Today we will be reviewing quizzes and grades.

The Unit 2 Test was graded and grades are posted for all students that took the test on Friday. All missing work and test make ups are due by end of school on Friday!
MONDAY We will be taking the Unit 3 Preassessment and doing a review on solving one and two step equations to prepare us for the first learning target of Unit 3. Learning Target: Solving one and two step equations. Success Criteria: You are successful if you can get x by itself through using opposite operations. TUESDAY - WEDNESDAY Learning Target: Use algebraic properties (such as distributive property and combining like terms) Success Criteria: You are successful if you can add and subtract like terms and multiply every number inside a set of parenthesis by a number outside of the parenthesis. THURSDAY Learning Target: Look at a linear equation in slope-intercept form and graph it. Success Criteria: You are successful if you can: -find the x-intercept by setting y equal to zero and solving -find the y-intercept by setting x equal to zero and solving -graphing the line by plotting both intercepts on a coordinate plane FRIDAY Learning Target: Practice using algebraic properties Success Criteria: You are successful if you can: - use the distribute property by multiplying everything inside the parenthesis by a number outside the parenthesis. - combine like terms by adding or subtracting coefficients in front of a variable together. |
